You will need to determine what aspects of the business makeover you can handle yourself and what aspects you might choose to outsource.  Then you will want to create for yourself a schedule, a list of priorities, as well as a list of goals so that you can keep track of your progress.  Then, you will want to take advantage of some great tools to make this process a little easier for you.  Some great online tools that you might want to consider include: Google Calendar, Remember the Milk, Toggl and Gmail.

All of these online tools are free to use and will help with different aspects of your business.  Google Calendar is a great way to keep up with your daily schedule and appointments.  Its many features and capabilities make organizing your schedule a cinch.

Remember the Milk is an online to do list program which you can use integrated with Google Calendar that puts all your many lists in one place, allows you to prioritize them and set reminders as well.

Toggl is a timer and project manager in one allowing you to set up projects and then track the time you spend working on them.  It can be used with others to track info from various team members in one place, and has a downloadable desktop box option as well.

Then there is Gmail, which is more than just an email client, with its numerous options and tools it can really streamline your email allowing you to find things quickly and be more productive with the time you spend communicating via email.

Some good advertising options such as press releases and using social networking sites, both of which can be done free. Having a press release written or writing one yourself is an invaluable way to promote your business after a business makeover.  Then you can use free press release distribution sites to distribute the press release, such as PR.com, NewswireToday.com and a multitude of others.  Press releases are a great way to gain exposure for your business.  They contain pertinent information that will guide the readers to your website.

Another free advertising option is the use of social networking sites, such as Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, and others.  These social networking options will allow you to broadcast information about your business makeover via blog posts, bulletins, and creating groups or pages about your business. Each site has different options for spreading the word about your business makeover.  All of which can be a great way to tell others about it.

As you go through the process of answering those question for yourself you will need to consider the resources and tools that are available to you for use in each of these areas.  For example there are several tools available for managing finances, including Quickbooks and  Quicken.  Then there are payment systems available that will not only allow you to accept payments but will help you to make payments as well.  Some of these include Google Checkout, Alert Pay, and Paypal.
